The Emmanuel Center was born in 1957 as a retreat and theological training Center with a strong ecumenical imprint. It promotes reflection and training in the care of creation from a theological and agroecological perspective, lately a Demonstration Farm, particularly recognized for its cheeses and dulce de leche has been integrated to the Center. Since then, the Emmanuel Center has opened its doors to dialogue with the needs and challenges of its time: a commitment to social, environmental, and local development issues.<\/p>\n
Several groups were hosted at the center for visits, workshops, trainings, or spiritual retreat.<\/p>\n
Among others, a few examples.<\/p>\n
Sentipensante workshops<\/strong>: four sessions were held throughout the year at the CE, focusing on strengthening intergenerational spaces through the integration of the body, silence, movement, spiritual narrative and contextualised Bible reading. The Sentipensante methodology was established as a distinctive pedagogical framework. This year\u2019s key themes were: Our Common Home, Ecumenism, Creation and Spirituality.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Support for groups of smallholder farmers<\/strong>. Throughout the year, farm visits and group meetings were held with farmers, during which, in addition to discussing production issues relating to the transition to agroecology, participants reflected on the reasons behind the need for care. A meeting was held on 27 March 2025 with all farmers linked to the CE, providing an opportunity to reflect on the gathering and the exchange of knowledge, the challenges to be addressed, and expectations.<\/p>\n
